Winston Churchill called Uganda the Pearl of Africa — and for good reason. Covering just 241,038 km², Uganda packs more wildlife species per square kilometre than almost anywhere on Earth. Home to half the world’s remaining mountain gorillas, 1,060 bird species, the River Nile, and 10 national parks spanning tropical forest, savanna, wetlands and mountain terrain.
